8 "cos we all take our chances to find out romance is in some others bed"

britpop took many shapes and the label britpop lost its impact as every single british band were hyped badly by the British press,
so after a while the audience stoped buying the britpop bands as they were crap, at least that's how i remember it.
but there were good stuff too, and ocean color scene were good, and they still are.
it´s such a solid album, great sound, great songs, they have put out great songs after this but still this is the best,
when i was a britpoper i went to see oasis at the opening of the Be Here Now tour in Oslo not knowing that Ocean color scene
was going to warm up.

hw in a hurry,

With all respect [we're all entitled to our own taste and preferences; at least in this part of the world!] -- I always found OCS a little bit boring in general....not crap, but not quite as interesting as other bands. Bland perhaps?

hi lilly,
sorry i haven´t answered you till now, only that i´ve been working and blabla bla,
i do understand that one can find OCS boring. for me its like this;
i was very in to this britpop thing in the mid90s, with oasis and blur etc,
and now when i listen to them they are only rock/pop bands with pop songs,
blur with their smart pop and oasis with their rock pop, i find that blur
have learned one or two things from the 80s and oasis from the late 70s,
but in OCS i find that they are more of a timeless rock act who have their roots in both 60s and 70s rock but also a lot from soul and blues from the 60s, something that makes their songs and albums not only something one listen to on 90s party's but also something that one can enjoy as a band that makes music conscious of their time and true to a long tradition of great rock and pop,

of course one can´t use this a criteria for quality, but at least that's whats makes the difference for me, now, and tomorrow? no one knows,
oh I´d love to discuss with you in real life some day,

hrw

I *shall* be getting back to you, T. I am just so busy this weekend -- off to have my dinner now; then another working week starts tomorrow morning in my beloved call centre.....
